I graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with my Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2002, and spent more than twenty years as a clinical pharmacist inside large hospital systems in Missouri and Florida. I know what medication is capable of. I also know what it doesn't touch.
The same people kept coming back with the same complaints — tired, heavier, foggier, older-feeling than their age. Their prescriptions were doing exactly what they were designed to do. Something else was missing.
So I went looking. Metabolism, hormones, functional medicine, health coaching, blood work. I lived an anti-inflammatory lifestyle for years and believed every bit of it — I still do. But at some point I hit a ceiling, and doing more of the same wasn't moving me past it.
